Rockpool

Rockpool is a four-bedroom family house in Gerrans on the Roseland, sleeping seven across the main house and a self-contained annexe. The main house holds a king double, a standard double, and a single (sleeping five), with the annexe adding a king-size bedroom for two.

For groups of six or more the annexe is required - included between Easter and October half term plus Christmas and New Year, and a GBP 150 supplement outside those dates. The main house has an open-plan layout, a single bathroom serving five people, an open fire, and a dishwasher. Wi-Fi runs throughout. The house has an EV charger and parking for three cars. Honest caveat: one bathroom for the main house is tight at full occupancy, and Thursday changeover means non-standard travel days.

Gerrans village has the parish church (locally known as the "ancient church by the sea") and the Standard Inn, a dog-friendly pub with real ales and a summer beer garden. The neighbouring fishing village of Portscatho is half a mile away with a convenience store, a pub, two restaurants, and seasonal cafes. Portscatho's small rock-pool beach lies a few minutes' walk from the cottage and is dog-friendly outside the July-August seasonal restriction. Porthcurnick Beach - dog-friendly all year and home to the Hidden Hut kitchen-table fish nights - is under a mile away. Towan Beach at St Anthony is two miles south, and St Mawes with its castle and year-round Falmouth ferry is a 15-minute drive.

Best for: a family or two-couple group of seven who want EV charging, dog access, and Porthcurnick within walking distance. Less good for: groups needing more than one bathroom in the main house, or anyone tied to weekend changeovers.
