Beachers

Beachers is a three-bedroom cottage on the Roseland near Portscatho, sleeping six. It sits above Gerrans Bay with sea views, a hot tub, a garden, and direct access onto the South West Coast Path and a secluded beach.

The three bedrooms are all super-king set-ups - one fixed super-king double and two zip-and-link super-kings that can be made up as twins on request at booking. Two bathrooms serve six guests. The cottage includes wifi, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and on-site parking, and welcomes up to two dogs. Honest note: the location rating from guests is 5/5 while cleanliness and equipment both sit at 3/5 on the host scorecard, so expect a working family cottage rather than a hotel-finish letting.

The coast path runs directly from the cottage - south toward Porthcurnick Beach and the Hidden Hut beach kitchen (cult kitchen-table fish nights, book weeks ahead), or north past Nare Head. Pendower Beach, a long sandy crescent lifeguarded in summer, is 2.4km away by road. Carne Beach is 3.1km, and Portscatho village - with the Plume of Feathers pub, a shop, and cafes - is a short walk south. St Mawes is a 15-minute drive with its castle and year-round Falmouth passenger ferry, putting day trips to Falmouth, Mevagissey, and Fowey within reach.

Best for: a family or two-couple group of six with a dog who want sea views, a hot tub, and the coast path at the garden gate. Less good for: guests expecting boutique-hotel finish (the scorecard is candid about that), or anyone who needs ground-floor accessibility.
