Monks Retreat

This property is situated in the Devonshire countryside, yet is only eight miles from one of Cornwall’s most popular seaside resorts: Bude. Here guests will find a choice of sandy beaches, one of which has a lovely tidal pool, providing safe bathing whatever the weather, as well as a mini-golf course, and a range of shops and cafes. Exploring a little further along the coast, visitors will come to the attractive fishing village of Boscastle, King Arthur’s Tintagel, and pretty Port Isaac.

The majority of the living space in this barn conversion property is located on the ground floor, including one of the bedrooms: a double room with an en-suite shower and WC. The lounge offers a cosy space in which to relax, with its slate floors, comfortable seating, smart TV, DVD, hi-fi, and patio door which leads out to the garden. The kitchen/diner, situated off the lounge, is a light and airy space which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. The second bedroom is a spacious, galleried twin room, which is also able to accommodate a cot. This room also benefits from a handy en-suite WC, so there is no need for guests to traipse up and downstairs during the night.

Outside, there is a private enclosed garden with patio area, which is where guests will find the wonderfully relaxing private hot tub, where they can lie back and enjoy the peaceful surroundings whilst gazing over the neighbouring fields. (Please note that the hot tub is for adult guests only) There is also a BBQ and garden furniture provided, so alfresco meals can be enjoyed during the warmer months.

Other facilities onsite include: two fishing lakes which guests can arrange access to; a private games room with a pool table, table tennis, a TV/DVD with a selection of Disney DVDs, a fruit machine, an electric organ, and a table football table; tractor rides; and farm walks. Guests may also be able to feed the chickens and visit farm animals.
