Barn Cottage at Forda Farm is a reverse-level barn conversion on a working farm near Bude, sleeping four across two bedrooms - a double with direct patio access and a twin room. The living area and kitchen sit on the upper floor to take advantage of the elevated position and countryside views over open farmland.

A wood burner handles cooler evenings, and the BBQ and elevated patio garden are the draw in summer. Duckpool Beach is 2.8km away via footpaths through the farm and coastal fields - a walk rather than a quick stroll, but rewarding. Sandymouth Beach is 3.4km. Bude town centre is accessible by car, offering surf hire, shops, and the sea pool on Summerleaze Beach. Kilkhampton village is 2 miles to the northeast. Tamar Lakes is 5 miles for kayaking and flat-water paddleboarding.

Two dogs are welcome and there are 2 parking spaces. The farm setting means wildlife and quiet evenings are the norm rather than the exception. The cottage does not have a dishwasher, so it suits those happy with simpler self-catering kit.

Good for families and couples who prioritise countryside quiet over beach-walking convenience. Works well as an off-season base given the wood burner - rates tend to be lower in autumn and the footpath to Duckpool is at its best without summer crowds. Not great for guests who want to walk to the beach without planning the route first.
