The bungalow suits small families or two couples. Open-plan living space, fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, and a patio with barbecue. Up to two dogs are welcome. One bathroom only, and the twin room limits bed-configuration flexibility for groups who'd want doubles. Off-street parking for two cars.

Summerleaze Beach is 1.2km away with the free tidal sea pool carved into the rocks - it's swimmable on any tide once it fills. Crooklets Beach at 1.7km is the main surf beach. Northcott Mouth sits 2.9km north, where the rusted ribs of the SS Belem still emerge at low tide. Widemouth Bay - 4 miles south - has the longest sand and a beginner surf school. Bude town's shops, cafes and pubs are walkable for dinner out, and the South West Coast Path passes through in both directions. Stratton, the older market town with the 16th-century Tree Inn, adjoins Bude on the north-east side.

Best for small families wanting a quiet, walk-to-the-beach base with a dog. Less good for groups needing multiple bathrooms or a twin-to-double flip.
