Melrose Cottage

Melrose Cottage is a three-bedroom cottage sleeping 2 in the centre of Polperro, a few minutes on foot from the harbour, shops and pubs. The property has been refurbished while retaining the feel of an older Cornish cottage, and sits on a quiet turning just off the main street.

Inside, an open-plan living space runs through the ground floor with a wood burner for cooler evenings, a kitchen fitted with dishwasher and washing machine, and wifi throughout. Two bathrooms serve the three bedrooms upstairs. Dogs are welcome.

Outside, the cottage has its own garden space. Polperro's harbour is a short walk down the hill, with pubs, cafes and the Cornish Cream on the slipway. The South West Coast Path runs along the cliff above the village. The nearest beaches include Lekerock Cove at 1.5 km, Talland Bay at 1.8 km and Lansallos Beach at 4 km, all accessible by coast path or car.

Polperro itself is one of Cornwall's older working fishing villages, with a museum of smuggling and fishing and a pedestrianised centre that keeps cars out during the day. Looe lies 4 miles east for the Looe Valley Line railway and a larger selection of shops, with Fowey and the Eden Project within easy driving distance.
