Lansallos Beach

Secluded and attractive, Lansallos Beach, also called Lansallos Cove, is situated close to Looe and Polperro on Cornwall’s south coast, close to the settlement of Lansallos. The beach is genuinely remote - reached only by a footpath winding through the countryside from Lansallos village - and is well-known for its clear water, natural beauty, and the sense of quiet that comes from having no facilities and no road access. During the warmer months, the clean waters provide a pleasant escape for swimming, snorkeling, and canoeing. A charming trail that meanders through the countryside leads to the beach, heightening the feeling of isolation and exploration.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of leisure activities at Lansallos Beach. The crystal-clear waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling, enabling guests to see marine life and explore the undersea world. Children and nature lovers will find hours of amusement playing in the tide pools and rocky outcrops on the beach. The South West Coast Path passes near Lansallos Beach with good cliff-top views of the sea and the rocky shoreline below.

With few facilities and a largely natural setting, Lansallos Beach has managed to retain its raw beauty. Visitors should bring their own supplies, such as food, water, and beach necessities, as there are no commercial facilities or public restrooms right at the beach. The closest parking is in the village of Lansallos; a walk leads from there to the beach. Lansallos Beach is close to both Looe and Polperro, making it a great starting point for visiting these quaint fishing villages. Looe has an active fishing port with a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants, while Polperro is well-known for its ancient harbour, narrow winding alleys, and lively arts scene.
