Lakeside Reach

Lakeside Reach is a Scandinavian-style lodge sleeping 4 in 2 bedrooms - a double and a twin - in a rural lakeside complex near Kilkhampton. The patio faces the lake and includes a private hot tub and charcoal BBQ for outdoor use year-round. Inside, the open-plan lounge and kitchen have a Smart TV and everything needed for self-catering. EV charging is available in the complex car park, and 2 dogs are welcome.

The on-site complex has shared facilities including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, games room with table tennis, coarse fishing lakes, and a tennis court. These are available to all guests staying in the complex and set this apart from a standard rural cottage rental - there is enough to do on site to fill a rainy day without leaving. A children's play area is also on site.

Bude is 8 miles to the west, with its surf beaches at Summerleaze and Crooklets and the tidal sea pool. Sandymouth Beach - a National Trust-managed cove to the north of Bude - is 7.4km. Tamar Lakes, a network of reservoirs with flat walking and birdwatching, is 1 mile from the lodge. Kilkhampton village has a pub 2.5 miles away.

Suits families with children or couples who want a mix of on-site activities and coastal day trips. Good for dogs, with 2 permitted and open grounds to walk around. Less good for guests who want to walk to beaches or restaurants from the door, as the location is rural and a car is needed for everything outside the complex.
