Higher Kernick View is a first-floor 1-bedroom apartment in a converted barn near Helland, on the western edge of Bodmin Moor north of Bodmin. The apartment sleeps two with a single en-suite bathroom, a private balcony, and views across the surrounding farmland.

The layout is compact and well-equipped for a couple. Wifi, private parking, a dishwasher, and a washing machine are included. The garden is shared with the barn complex. Underfloor heating runs through the bathroom. Changeover is Friday.

Blisland village - with its traditional green, the award-winning Blisland Inn (a CAMRA multiple winner for Cornish ales), and the Norman church of St Protus and St Hyacinth - is about 2 miles away. The Camel Trail, a cycling and walking path on the old railway line, can be picked up at Wenfordbridge about 2 miles north, running west to Padstow and east to Bodmin. The nearest beach is Port Gaverne - a sheltered inlet near Port Isaac on the north coast - about 12.9km by road. Bodmin town is roughly 4 miles south.

Best for: walkers, cyclists, and anyone wanting a quiet moorland base within reach of the Camel Trail and Bodmin's market town amenities. Less good for: beach-focused holidays - the north coast is a half-hour drive, and this is definitively an inland property.
