East Looe Beach is 12km south - a long sandy beach within a working harbour town with independent shops and cafes. Plaidy Beach, a quieter neighbour, is 11.6km. The Looe Valley Line, a rural branch railway from Liskeard to Looe, runs close by and is one of the more scenic short train journeys in Cornwall.

Golitha Falls, a National Nature Reserve on the River Fowey at the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, is around 8km north. The Adrenalin Quarry activity centre, with zip wire and bungee experiences, is 1km from the cottage. Liskeard has a supermarket for stocking up on arrival.

This cottage is ideal for couples wanting an accessible rural base within driving range of both coast and moor. Good for low-mobility guests who value flat, step-free access. Not great for guests wanting to walk to beaches, as the nearest is a 20-minute drive.
