Cider Press

The Cider Press is a one-bedroom converted cottage in the Luxulyan Valley, about 10 minutes from the coast and 3 miles from the Eden Project. The property sits across the river from its original mill, surrounded by woodland and set within a World Heritage Site.

Inside, the layout is inverted to make the most of the woodland setting, with a super king bed in the bedroom and double glazing throughout. It is a compact, character-filled space designed for two, with the kitchen and living area geared to long evenings in after a day out.

Outside, the riverside garden runs down to the boulder-strewn River Par, giving space to sit and listen to the water. Private parking is included and one small or medium dog is welcome. Mobile phone reception is absent, which is either a feature or a drawback depending on what guests are after.

Carlyon Bay is the nearest beach at 4.9 km, followed by Charlestown Beach at 5.7 km and Porthpean at 6.7 km. Par Sands and Polkerris harbour are both around 10 minutes by car, and Fowey, Lostwithiel and St Austell all lie within a 15-minute drive. The Saints Way and Camel Trail are in range for walking and cycling respectively.
