Kingfisher Lodge

Kingfisher Lodge is a one-bedroom lakeside cottage in the Water Meadows complex near Bugle, sleeping two with one bathroom. The standout feature is direct fly fishing access on the adjacent lake, with expert tuition available from an experienced angler on site. Parking, dishwasher, washing machine, and a private garden are included. There is no Wi-Fi at this property.

The setting is in the china clay country between Bodmin Moor and St Austell. The landscape here has a distinct character - white spoil heaps and flooded clay pits create an unusual backdrop that appeals to some guests and surprises others. The Eden Project is roughly 4 miles away, making this a useful base for a day visit.

Carlyon Bay beach is 4.8km south, Charlestown Harbour 5.3km, and Porthpean Beach 6.2km. The drive to all three takes under 15 minutes. Charlestown is particularly worth a stop - the harbour has been used as a filming location for Poldark and several other productions, and there are usually tall ships moored there in summer. Restormel Castle near Lostwithiel is around 8 miles north.

Right for couples who want a quiet rural base with fishing on the doorstep and day-trip access to south coast beaches and the Eden Project. Not great for guests expecting strong digital connectivity or who want beach access within walking distance.
