Briar Cottage

Briar Cottage is a contemporary three-bedroom cottage set in open countryside about a mile from Talland Bay on the south Cornwall coast. It follows an upside-down layout, with living space on the upper floor and bedrooms below, and sits in a quiet plot with only one neighbouring property.

Inside, the interior has been finished in a clean, modern style. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, WiFi throughout, and a kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Ground-floor access makes the layout suitable for guests who prefer not to tackle stairs. The cottage sleeps two, with reduced rates for solo travellers or couples using one bedroom at quieter times of year.

The private garden has lighting and a built-in barbecue stand, and a second outdoor space across the driveway is set up with benches around a fire pit. Changeover is on Fridays, with prices from 659 GBP per week rising to 1,468 GBP at peak. Talland Bay itself, about a mile away, has rock pools, sheltered swimming and a beach cafe where kayaks can be hired in season.

Talland Bay sits midway between Looe and Polperro on the south coast. The South West Coast Path passes through the bay and reaches both harbour villages in about 2.5 miles in each direction, making this a good base for walkers who want a rural setting with pubs and restaurants within reach on foot.
