Breakers

Breakers is a two-bedroom cottage in Polperro, a fishing village on Cornwall’s south coast where cars are banned from the inner streets. The cottage dates from the 18th century and was originally a fisherman’s dwelling. It has been fully refurbished with a new kitchen, new bathrooms, and fresh flooring and carpets throughout, blending the original character with a contemporary finish.

The cottage sleeps four and sits on a traffic-free lane with views over Polperro harbour from one side and out to sea from the other. Parking is included - likely at Crumplehorn car park at the top of the village, the standard arrangement for Polperro properties. Prices start from 950 pounds per week with Saturday changeover. Children must be over 8 years old.

The South West Coast Path runs right past the property, connecting to walks along both directions of the coast. The nearest beach is Lekerock Cove at 1.2 km, and Talland Bay is 1.4 km along the path toward Looe. The coast path section from Polperro to Looe covers about 5 miles one-way through Talland Bay - a walk of 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding are accessible directly from the harbour area.

Polperro’s harbour still has around 13 registered fishing boats operating - trawlers, netters, and hand-line mackerel boats. The Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing overlooks the harbour, and the Blue Peter Inn is the village’s main pub.
