Three-bedroom lodge on the Newquay View Resort site at the top of Trevelgue Road in Porth, sleeping six with on-site pool access. From GBP 714/week with a Friday changeover. Wifi and parking included. No dogs, no sea view.

The lodge has two bathrooms and an enclosed garden, with dishwasher and washing machine on the ground floor. The shared swimming pool sits within the Newquay View resort complex, a short walk from the front door. Being a lodge on a holiday resort, you're sharing pool and grounds with other guests - good if you want amenities and quiet neighbours, less good if you want a standalone cottage feel.

Trevelgue Road runs along the clifftop above Whipsiderry Beach, which is 900 metres downhill - sand and sea caves at low tide, reached via a steep path cut into the cliff. Watergate Bay, 1.1 miles north, has two miles of sand, the Beach Hut Bar, and space for surf lessons. Porth Beach with its rockpools and footbridge is half a mile south. Bedruthan Steps sits three miles further up the coast path for a half-day walk.

Best for a family of six who want an on-site pool and a clifftop base between Whipsiderry and Watergate. Less good for dog-owners or anyone preferring a detached cottage without shared facilities.
