Sleeps 4 2 beds 8 (21 reviews) Saturday

Two-bedroom traditional cottage with cottage garden in Burlawn, 1.5 miles from Wadebridge. Dog-friendly, sleeps 4.

The Old Post Office is a two-bedroom traditional cottage set in the hamlet of Burlawn on the outskirts of Wadebridge. The property sleeps four across a king bed and a super-king zip-and-link that splits into two singles, with designated parking for one car and a welcome for two small or medium dogs, or one large dog.

Inside, the layout spreads across two floors with a downstairs WC adding a second washing space alongside the main bathroom. The cottage keeps its traditional character through the living areas, with space for a family of four or two couples, and short breaks are available outside peak weeks.

Outside, a cottage garden runs off the back of the property. Burlawn itself is circled by footpaths, with local dog walks through Bishop's Wood and Hustyn's Wood direct from the village. The Camel Trail, a traffic-free cycle route between Padstow and Bodmin, passes through Wadebridge 1.5 miles away, with bicycle hire on both ends of the trail.

Wadebridge offers independent shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, a two-screen cinema, leisure centre and a riverside park with tennis courts. Padstow sits seven miles north via the Camel Trail for Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant, Paul Ainsworth at No 6 and the working harbour. Bodmin and the National Trust's Lanhydrock estate sit a short drive east, with Cardinham Woods close by for forest walks and a cafe.
