Mill House

Mill House is a four-bedroom property set in countryside near Pelynt in south-east Cornwall, sleeping nine across two king-size and two twin bedrooms with three bathrooms. The reverse-level layout puts the main living space upstairs, making the most of the rural views.

The house has an open fire, enclosed garden, BBQ, and off-road parking. Dogs are welcome. Wifi, dishwasher, and washing machine are included. Saturday changeover.

The nearest beaches require a short drive rather than a walk: Lansallos Beach is 8.9km, a National Trust cove with no road access beyond the car park - one of the quieter options on the south coast. Lantic Bay is 9.7km, reached by a 20-minute walk from the nearest car parking. Fowey - the estuary town pronounced "Foy" - is roughly 8 miles east and has restaurants and the Hall Walk circular.

The Caradon area and the china clay country around St Austell are within 30 minutes' drive for days away from the coast.

Best for larger dog-friendly groups who want a rural retreat within reach of the south coast's less-commercialised beaches. Less good for those expecting a short walk to the sea - the nearest beaches are at least 20 minutes by car.
