The coast path in both directions is exposed and involves significant ascent, with particular views south towards Cambeak headland.

Boscastle harbour is roughly 6km south along the coast path or road. Bude is about 12km north, with two sandy town beaches - Crooklets and Summerleaze - and a surf school. Widemouth Bay, a long straight-sand beach popular with families and bodyboarders, is 8km to the north. Millook Beach, a quieter pebble and rock cove with rock pools, is 5.4km away.

Good for couples or solo active travellers wanting a base close to serious coast path terrain. Less good for guests expecting immediate beach access, as the 1.8km to the shore requires a drive or a walk along the lane.
