East Looe Beach is 200 metres away, and Hannafore Beach is 0.8 km south with rock pools and year-round dog access.

Looe's working harbour lands fresh fish daily, and the narrow streets hold independent shops, galleries and restaurants. The coast path runs in both directions - east toward Whitsand Bay and west through woods to Polperro. Looe Island, a wildlife reserve with grey seals and nesting seabirds, is a short boat ride from the harbour.
