Cawsand and Kingsand are colour-washed twin villages sharing a single harbour on the Rame Peninsula. The Cawsand-Kingsand stream marked the Devon-Cornwall county boundary until 1844, with the Halfway House pub sitting on the line. The Plymouth Sound passenger ferry runs from Cawsand Beach to the Barbican from Easter to October. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park's 800-acre estate is a mile north, and the South West Coast Path runs through both villages towards Whitsand Bay 5.7km west.

Best for a multigenerational gathering or two families wanting a characterful old house in a walkable harbour village. Less good for dog owners, drivers expecting a private space, or guests who want en-suites for every bedroom.
