Fern Cottage

Fern Cottage is a two-bedroom dog-friendly cottage in St Day, a former mining village about 3 miles south of Redruth within the Cornwall Mining World Heritage Site. The reverse-level layout places both bedrooms on the ground floor, with open-plan living upstairs - an arrangement that makes the most of light through the first-floor Juliet balcony.

The ground floor has a king-size bedroom with Smart TV and a double bedroom, plus a wet room with walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Upstairs, the open-plan space combines kitchen, dining, and sitting areas. A dishwasher, microwave, fridge, and freezer are all provided. A conservatory and utility room extend the usable space, though the utility appliances run on a coin meter. Note the living area has limited headroom due to a sloped ceiling.

Outside, an enclosed rear garden has a lawn, sheltered patio with furniture, and a barbecue - useful for keeping one dog secure (accepted at a supplement). Roadside parking sits directly outside. The cottage is an annexe to the owner's home.

St Day has a village shop within 0.1 miles and the Star Inn 0.2 miles away. Portreath Beach on the north coast is 8.4km away, with Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes 9.2km. The Great Flat Lode trail for walking and cycling passes through the area, and the A30 is a short drive for reaching Falmouth or the north coast surf beaches.
