Carew House Cottage

Carew House Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage on Fore Street in St Day, a former mining village about 3 miles south of Redruth. The cottage sleeps 4 and sits within the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. An EV charging point is available - a practical feature in a rural location.

The king-size bedroom has an en-suite with bath, walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail, and WC. The second bedroom is a double. A ground-floor wet room with walk-in shower provides accessible washing facilities. The kitchen is separate from the living/dining room, which has a woodburning stove as its centrepiece. A Nespresso machine, slimline dishwasher, Smart TV, and Bluetooth speaker are included. Up to 2 dogs are welcome at no extra charge.

Free roadside parking is available. The village stores, pharmacy, Star Inn pub, and a chapel are all within 0.1 miles along the main street. Logs for the woodburning stove can be bought from the village store.

Portreath Beach - a sandy north coast beach backed by a historic harbour - is 8.1km away. Trevaunance Cove at St Agnes, with its remains of old harbour walls and reliable surf, sits 9.1km north. The Great Flat Lode walking and cycling trail passes nearby, and Carn Brea hill with its monument is about 2 miles north.
