Emelle

Emelle is a three-bedroom cottage in the Rame Peninsula village of Cawsand, converted from a former pilchard palace and village school. It sleeps seven across a zip-and-link twin, a king, and a triple room with a double and single, and sits directly on the waterfront overlooking Plymouth Sound.

Inside, the cottage has three bathrooms, an open fire, a dishwasher and washing machine, with accessible-friendly access on the ground floor. The layout suits families and groups who want to spread out without leaving each other behind, and wifi is provided throughout.

The cottage sits 30 yards from the beach, the village bakery and the tea room, with the local pub and restaurant 50 yards away. A path cut into the rocks leads directly to Girt Beach, a dog-friendly cove backed by the Cawsand clock tower. Two more small beaches at Cawsand and Kingsand lie within 200 metres, and the three-mile sands of Whitsand Bay are five miles away.

Cawsand and neighbouring Kingsand share a cluster of independent shops, galleries and places to eat along the water's edge. The South West Coast Path runs directly through the villages, heading south to Penlee Point and north towards the ferry crossings to Plymouth. Dogs are welcome.
