Cassia

Cassia is a single-storey 2-bedroom cottage at Penstowe Manor in Kilkhampton, sleeping four guests in a king-size and a twin room. The cottage sits within a managed estate that includes communal lawns and The Stowe, an on-site venue serving refreshments and entertainment.

Inside, the open-plan layout covers kitchen, dining, and sitting areas in one space. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, and fridge with ice box. A shower room with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail, and WC serves both bedrooms. A highchair and travel cot are available on request.

An enclosed front decking area with furniture provides outdoor seating, and communal lawns extend beyond. Two dogs are welcome. The car park is a short uphill walk from the cottage. The nearest shop is 0.5 miles away in Kilkhampton village, and the pub is 0.6 miles. Sandymouth Beach, a wide National Trust beach with summer lifeguards and dramatic rock formations, is 4.4 km away. Duckpool Beach, a remote rocky cove with no facilities, lies 4.5 km to the west.

Kilkhampton sits on high ground about 5 miles north-east of Bude. The parish church of St James has over 150 carved bench ends dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. The Coombe Valley nature reserve, managed by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, is about a mile west with waymarked woodland trails running down to the coast.
