Two bedrooms upstairs sleep four: a king-size at the front and a zip-and-link rear bedroom set up as a king or twin. They share a single family bathroom with bath and shower over - so a four-person group shares one bathroom. Off-road parking is included, which is uncommon for this part of town. No dogs at this property.

The restored 1935 Jubilee Pool lido and the seafront are a 10-minute walk south. Eastern Green Beach sits 1.6km along the bay; Mousehole (pronounced Mowzel) is 3.7km down the coast and runs its harbourside Tom Bawcock's Eve lantern festival each December. Chapel Street with the Egyptian House and the Admiral Benbow is a 5-minute walk. The Scillonian III ferry to St Mary's leaves from Penzance harbour, also around 10 minutes on foot.

Best for two couples or a family of four wanting a quiet town-centre base with parking and easy reach of west Cornwall. Less good if you want a sea view, more than one bathroom, or you're travelling with a dog.
