Goldsithney

Mount's Bay village between Marazion and Praa Sands

Goldsithney is a village on the western edge of Mount’s Bay, about 1.5 miles south of Marazion and 4 miles east of Penzance. It sits on a low ridge with views across the bay and provides a convenient base for the cluster of west Cornwall attractions concentrated around this stretch of coast. The village has a pub and some local facilities; Marazion with its shops, cafes, and access to St Michael’s Mount is a short drive north.

St Michael’s Mount - the tidal island with a medieval castle and abbey - is accessible on foot across the causeway from Marazion at low tide, or by ferry at high tide. Marazion Marsh, managed by the RSPB and one of the most watched birdwatching sites in south-west England, lies between Marazion and the beach. Penzance, with its galleries, restaurants, and ferry terminal for the Isles of Scilly, is about 4 miles west.

Praa Sands, a long south-facing sandy beach, is about 3 miles east - one of the better swimming beaches in west Cornwall. The Lizard is accessible to the south via Helston (about 8 miles east). Holiday cottages in Goldsithney offer a quieter base than the coastal villages while remaining close to the main Mount’s Bay attractions.
