The Moorings

The Moorings is a two-storey waterside cottage in Portreath, sleeping five across three bedrooms with direct views over the harbour. The cottage sits 300 metres from Portreath Beach, a sandy cove with seasonal lifeguard cover, two surf schools and water sports on the water. Dogs are welcome and parking is available.

Inside, a large French door at the front opens into the kitchen-diner, fitted with shaker-style units, a wooden floor and a table for six. The rear lounge has dark wooden beams, an open fire with a stone surround, a bay window looking onto the harbour and a door to the rear patio. Upstairs, the bedrooms cover a double, a twin and a bunk room, served by a bathroom and a separate WC. The kitchen has a dishwasher and Wi-Fi runs through the cottage.

Outside, the front has a lawn enclosed by brick walls and a gate for children to play safely. The rear patio is furnished with a bistro set and sits directly above the harbour, fenced by a wrought-iron balustrade. Portreath Beach is 300 metres away, Godrevy Beach 7.8 km, and Gwithian Towans 8.7 km.

Portreath village has a tearoom, bakery, cafes and inns within half a mile. The South West Coast Path passes the door - heading west half a mile across the Carvannel Downs, or east a mile past the lighthouse to the nature reserve. A wildlife park lies one mile inland, and Hayle, St Ives and Truro are all within a 30-minute drive.
