The Beach Hut

The Beach Hut is a one-bedroom duplex apartment in St Ives, sleeping two adults, positioned at the rear of Ayr Terrace near the town's north edge. Off-road parking is included - an advantage in a town where most visitors spend 20 minutes circling before paying at the Tregenna Hill car park.

One bedroom across two floors with a separate lounge and electric fire. Wi-Fi and a washing machine are included; there is no dishwasher. The layout works well for couples planning a longer stay or back-to-back days outdoors - enough space to feel like a base rather than a crash pad.

Porthmeor Beach is 500 metres - the main surf beach, facing north-west and picking up Atlantic swells from September onwards. St Ives Harbour Beach is 600 metres in the other direction, calmer and sheltered. Tate St Ives sits above Porthmeor and is a 10-minute walk. The town's galleries, fish restaurants, and independent shops are all within a 15-minute walk. Changeover day is Friday.

Best for: couples spending a week in St Ives focused on the beaches, galleries, and South West Coast Path access in both directions along the Penwith peninsula. Less good for: families, pet owners, or groups - the cottage sleeps two adults only.
