Porthgwidden Beach, the small sheltered cove on the headland, is 200 metres away. Porthmeor Beach and Tate St Ives sit 300 metres west, and Harbour Beach is 400 metres south. The Barbara Hepworth Museum, Hub Box on the harbour, One Fish Street, and the Pilchard Press alehouse are all within the same medieval Downalong lane network. The branch-line train station is a 10-minute walk south past Porthminster.

Best for couples or a solo traveller with one dog who want to walk to everything in central St Ives. Less good for drivers needing on-site parking, anyone wanting a private garden or terrace, or guests who prefer a quieter spot outside the busy summer Downalong streets.
