If fishing isn’t your thing, take a boat trip to Looe Island, where you can find some lovely examples of rare plants, and spot plenty of wildlife, including grey seals and seabirds. Don’t miss New Year in Looe, when many happy party-goers in fancy dress descend upon the town to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a magnificent fireworks display.
