Three-bedroom cottage on the St Mellion Estate in south-east Cornwall, sleeping 6 across the resort's 450-acre grounds. The on-site health club, three pools, spa and Nicklaus Course are included in the stay. Callington sits 3.5 miles north for shops; Saltash is 6 miles east for supermarkets.

Single-level layout: one open-plan living, kitchen and dining room with timber-clad ceilings and patio doors to a private terrace. Each of the three bedrooms has zip-and-link beds (super-king or twin on request) plus en-suite or adjacent shower room. Kitchen runs to electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. Two cars park off-road on-site.

The Estate sits 4 miles west of Pentillie Castle on the River Tamar and 4 miles from Cotehele, the National Trust's Tudor manor and quay. Plymouth is 12 miles east via the Tamar Bridge. Looe is 15.5 miles south on the coast and Whitsand Bay 14km for surf and the South West Coast Path. The Tamar Valley National Landscape (formerly AONB) wraps the area.

Best for golfing groups, families wanting pool and spa access, and dog owners (2 max). Less good for guests after a self-contained rural cottage; this is one of a numbered cluster on a working hotel-and-golf resort, so expect other guests, evening restaurant trade and shared paths.
