Marhayes

Marhayes is a converted barn on the 100-acre Helsbury Park estate, just outside Camelford on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The property has shared access to a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna - a considerable draw for families and groups visiting the north Cornwall coast and moorland.

Three bedrooms are arranged over two floors, each with a four-poster or zip-link king-size bed and its own en-suite shower room. A downstairs WC adds convenience. The open-plan ground floor combines kitchen, dining room, and sitting room, with a wood burner stove as the centrepiece. A range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer handle the self-catering side.

The grounds are extensive - 100 acres of countryside including river, bridge, woods, and pasture, with a coal barbecue for outdoor cooking. Off-road parking fits three cars. A shared EV charging point requires an app for payment. Dogs are welcome with no limit on numbers, and a dog-sitting service is available. WiFi runs at 30 Mbps via a dedicated wireless connection.

Tregardock Beach, a remote north coast strand reached by a steep 15-minute walk, is 6.3 km away. Port Gaverne, a sheltered cove near Port Isaac with calm water and rock pools, is 8.5 km. Camelford itself provides basic shops and pubs, while Boscastle and Tintagel are both within 15 minutes by car. Rough Tor and Brown Willy - Cornwall's two highest points - are accessible from the moor nearby.
