Pentewan Beach is just 300m away - a 400-metre stretch of golden sand that is lifeguarded in summer and popular for kayaking. Porthpean Beach, a sheltered family cove with rock pools, is 3.6km along the coast. The Pentewan Valley Trail runs 3 miles to St Austell along a flat, traffic-free route, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are 2 miles south.
