Forgetmenot, Higher Worthyvale Farm

Shepherd's hut for two on Higher Worthyvale Farm, a working farm three miles inland from Trebarwith Strand on the north Cornwall coast. The hut comes with a private hot tub, a BBQ on the patio, and an enclosed garden. One dog welcome.

Single open-plan space inside: king-size bed, two-seater sofa, kitchenette and Smart TV, with the shower room separate. No wifi listed and no washing machine, so plan a long weekend rather than a fortnight. The patio looks out over open moorland - working-farm noises (sheep, the occasional tractor) come with the territory.

Trebarwith Strand is a 7-minute drive: a sandy beach at low tide, slate cliffs on either side, the Port William inn above. Walk the coast path 2 miles north to Tintagel Castle and the National Trust Old Post Office. Boscastle harbour is 6 miles north. Camelford for shops and pubs is 2 miles away. Port Isaac, the Doc Martin filming village, is 8 miles down the coast.

Best for: couples wanting a hot tub, a dog, and easy access to both Bodmin Moor and the Tintagel coast. Less good for: families, longer stays that need laundry on site, or anyone wanting to walk straight to the beach without driving the lanes first.
