Castle Beach is the nearest sand at 4.4 km, with Gyllyngvase Beach 4.6 km and Swanpool Beach 5 km away in Falmouth.

Mylor Bridge has a post office, grocery store, fishmonger, butcher and the Lemon Arms pub. Falmouth is less than 5 miles south, with its maritime museum, independent shops and seafood restaurants.
