Church House

Church House is a Grade II listed 16th-century property in the narrow streets of East Looe, reputedly a former tavern. The house sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms and retains its original granite archways, heavy beams, and period panelling throughout. It features on the Looe Heritage Trail as a building of historical significance.

Inside, the house has been refurbished to a modern standard while keeping its period character. An open fire provides heating, and the kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. WiFi is included. A garden room opens onto a small, private, paved courtyard. Note that the twisting staircase to the living room and master bedroom may not suit those with mobility difficulties.

East Looe Beach is just 100 metres away - a sheltered stretch of sand between the harbour walls, lifeguarded in summer. Hannafore Beach on the West Looe side is 0.9 km, with some of the best rock pools in Cornwall. Plaidy Beach, a quieter mixed sand-and-shingle cove, is 1.2 km to the east.

Looe is a working fishing town with boats landing their catch daily on the quayside. Independent shops, fish restaurants, and pubs line the streets on both sides of the river. The coast path west leads through woods to Polperro, while east it climbs the cliffs towards Whitsand Bay. Looe Island, a Cornwall Wildlife Trust nature reserve, is a short boat ride from the harbour. Prices start from GBP 587 per week.
