Chough Cottage

Chough Cottage is an upside-down two-bedroom cottage on Heavitree Road in Kingsand, sleeping four. Living spaces sit on the upper floor to lift sightlines over the rooftops to Plymouth Sound. Kingsand Beach is 100m down the lane.

The layout is straightforward: two bedrooms and the bathroom on the lower floors, kitchen-diner and lounge above for the views. Wifi, dishwasher, washing machine and an enclosed courtyard garden. The entry level is step-free, which makes Chough one of the more accessible cottages in the village. Dogs are welcome. There is no on-site parking - public parking is a short walk away in Cawsand.

Kingsand and Cawsand are colour-washed twin villages sharing a single harbour on the Rame Peninsula. The Cawsand-Kingsand stream marked the historic Devon-Cornwall county boundary until 1844 - the Halfway House pub sat on the line itself. From Cawsand Beach, a passenger ferry runs to Plymouth Barbican from Easter to October. The 800-acre Mount Edgcumbe Country Park sits a mile north, and Whitsand Bay's three-mile cliff-backed beach is 5.6km south-west along the coast path.

Best for couples or a family of four wanting a walkable village base with the beach, pubs and ferry on the doorstep. Less good for guests who need on-site parking.
