Castle Green Cottage sits 20 metres from Polruan's working harbour, a former ship-building port on the eastern bank of the Fowey estuary. The 2-bedroom property sleeps 4 across a double and a twin, each with its own en-suite shower room - a practical bonus for two couples or families sharing. The ground-floor lounge faces the harbour and has a wood burner for cooler evenings. To the rear, a terraced courtyard garden steps up to a raised patio and summerhouse with estuary views across to Bodinnick and beyond.

Readymoney Cove is 0.5km on foot. The passenger ferry to Fowey departs from the quay directly below the cottage, putting the town's restaurants, galleries and South West Coast Path access a five-minute crossing away. Lantic Bay, one of the more remote sandy beaches on the south coast, is around 2.1km by footpath.

This is best for two couples or a small family who want a working harbour on the doorstep rather than a resort or manicured village. The steep, narrow streets of Polruan suit those who travel light and don't mind hills. Parking is available at the property but the location is walkable for most needs during a stay. Less good for groups wanting a large shared living space - the lounge is compact and the layout prioritises bedroom quality over common areas.

The estuary and Fowey are the draw here: kayaking, sailing, coastal walking, and the Hall Walk nature trail starting from Bodinnick are all within easy reach. The cottage has WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Up to 2 dogs are welcome.
