Bishop Rock

In association with Trinity House, we are pleased to present Bishop Rock at Lizard Lighthouse. Located on the southern-most tip of mainland Britain, the six adjacent cottages of Lizard Lighthouse present guests with dazzling scenery and coastal walks right from the doorstep. Rare and beautiful flora and fauna make this cliff top location particularly special. One of six former lighthouse keepers' cottages, Bishop Rock is a two-storey, dog-friendly property with a spacious kitchen and dining area with high gloss units and fully equipped for preparing memorable holiday meals. The comfy sitting room has generous seating surrounding the fireplace with an electric flame effect fire, and views of the sea from the window. The modern family bathroom is also located on the ground floor, with a bath and overhead rainfall shower. The two bedrooms are upstairs and include a king-size and a twin room, ideal for families. Outside, the property enjoys its own enclosed courtyard and allocated parking. Lizard Lighthouse is a fully working lighthouse, first established in 1619. The distinctive two white towers that it is known for today were built in 1751 by private entrepreneur Thomas Fonnereau, and first lit on 22 August of that year. Trinity House gained control of the lights in 1771 and continues to look after its operation to this day. It became electrified in 1924 and then fully automated in 1998. It has a 26 mile light range and an automatic 3 mile fog signal if conditions are misty. The nearby Lizard Village provides shops, restaurants and a friendly pub only a short ¼ mile distance away. There are an abundance of other small seaside towns and beaches to explore including St Michael's Mount, St Ives, Mousehold, Newlyn, Penzance and The Helford River.
