Single-storey 4-bedroom cottage in Trethevy, 1.5 miles east of Tintagel on the north Cornwall coast. Sleeps 8 plus up to two dogs. Everything is on one level, which suits mixed-age groups and anyone wanting to skip the stairs.

The four ground-floor bedrooms include two king-size with en-suite walk-in showers, a third king and a twin, both with Smart TVs. A family bathroom adds a bath and a separate walk-in shower. The open-plan living space links the kitchen, dining and sitting area, with a separate utility room housing the washing machine and tumble dryer. Dishwasher, Wi-Fi and parking for four cars round out the practical kit.

Outside, an enclosed rear garden gives dogs space to run, and a furnished decking area at the front catches the morning light. Trethevy itself is a few houses off the B3263, with Rocky Valley and its 3,000-year-old rock-carved labyrinths reached on foot from nearby Bossiney car park.

Bossiney Cove - a tidal sandy cove with the Elephant Rock formation - sits 1.1km north-west, accessible at low tide via a steep path. Tintagel Castle and the 2019 footbridge are a 1.5-mile drive west. At GBP 1,030/week sleeping 8 that's GBP 18pp/night in low season. Best for two families or a multi-generation group with a dog. Less good for couples wanting a smaller bolthole or anyone needing EV charging (not provided).
