A three-bedroom detached house in Killigarth, the hilltop hamlet between Polperro and Talland Bay on Cornwall's south coast. Sleeps 6, with sea views across Talland Bay from the upstairs bedrooms - the main draw at this price point.

Bedrooms run to two doubles plus a single with a pull-out trundle, sharing one bathroom (tight for six adults). The sitting room has an open fire and the south-facing sun deck is set up for breakfast in the sun. Dishwasher, washing machine and WiFi are included. Garage parking and an enclosed garden suit dogs and gear-heavy guests; no hot tub or wood burner.

Talland Bay is 1km away by footpath - a sheltered south-coast cove with two beach cafes (Talland Bay Beach Cafe and the smaller Smugglers Rest), good for swimming and rockpooling. Polperro harbour, 1.5 miles west, bans cars from the inner village; around 13 fishing boats still work from it and the Heritage Museum of Smuggling and Fishing sits on the old pilchard factory. The South West Coast Path between Polperro and Looe runs 5 miles through Talland Bay - one of the best walks on the south coast.

Best for a family of six or two couples with a dog who want sea views and easy beach access. Less good for groups needing more than one bathroom or a flat walk to the harbour.
