The accessible design and south-west facing master bedroom balcony with double-aspect garden views give it a distinct character within this stretch of coast between Looe and Polperro.

Inside, three bedrooms are served by one bathroom, with contemporary fittings throughout. The master opens onto the balcony, and a roof terrace reached by a spiral staircase offers space for outdoor dining with countryside views towards the sea. WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine are included. Dogs are welcome.

Estate facilities are a significant part of the appeal: a 12 by 6 metre indoor heated pool, an outdoor naturally-filtered plunge pool open year-round, a sauna, a gym with changing rooms, and on-site concierge services. A hot tub is available to guests, and parking is on site.

Talland Bay has a small sandy beach directly below the estate - one of the quieter coves on the south coast, with rock pools and a beach cafe. The coast path west reaches Polperro in about a mile, while Looe is roughly 2 miles east. Prices start from £748 per week, with Saturday changeover.

Best for: families or two couples who want resort-level facilities - pool, hot tub, concierge - in a quiet coastal setting. Less good for: those wanting a town-centre holiday - the estate is rural and the nearest shops are in Looe or Polperro.
