Rosudgeon
Village near Prussia Cove and Mount's Bay
Rosudgeon is a village on the A394 between Penzance and Helston, about 4 miles east of Penzance. The village sits on rising ground above Mount’s Bay, with views south across the water. Prussia Cove - a series of small rocky coves named after an 18th-century smuggler who styled himself the “King of Prussia” - is about a mile to the south, reached by footpath through farmland. The coves are popular with swimmers and coasteerers, and the coast path passes along the clifftop.
The village has a pub, the Falmouth Packet, and sits within easy reach of several good beaches. Perranuthnoe, a sandy beach with a seasonal cafe, is about 2 miles to the southwest. Praa Sands, a longer stretch of sand with surf, is roughly 2 miles east. Marazion and St Michael’s Mount are about 3 miles to the west along the coast road. The A394 provides a direct route to both Penzance (westward) and Helston (eastward), with Helston’s supermarkets about 6 miles away.
Holiday properties around Rosudgeon include farmhouse conversions, cottages, and rural retreats on the lanes between the main road and the coast. The elevated position means many properties have sea views, and the surrounding countryside is a mix of arable fields and small pastures divided by Cornish hedges. The Penzance to Helston bus passes through regularly, making car-free day trips possible. The village sits roughly midway along the south coast of west Cornwall, within 20 minutes of most of the area’s attractions.
