Polperro
Narrow lanes and a working harbour on Cornwall's south coast
Porthpyra
Polperro is one of the most photographed fishing villages in Cornwall, tucked into a deep narrow valley on the south coast. Cars are banned from the inner village, so you arrive on foot — past whitewashed cottages, down lanes barely wide enough for two people, to a working harbour where crab and lobster boats still go out daily. There are galleries, seafood restaurants and a heritage museum around the quay, and the coast path in both directions gives dramatic clifftop walking above the Channel.
