Perranuthnoe Beach lies 1.4 km south (a sandy beach sheltered by the headland), with Prussia Cove at 1.9 km (a rocky cove with local history as a smuggling haunt) and Piskies Cove a little further on.

Rosudgeon village has two pubs including The Packet Inn, along with a Co-op convenience store. Marazion and Praa Sands are both a couple of miles by car for their sandy beaches. Penzance is 6 miles west with its main railway station, supermarkets and the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company ferry terminal for day trips to the islands.
