The Mowhay - Penvose Farm

The Mowhay is a converted dairy barn at Penvose Farm near Tregurrian, sleeping 6 across 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The South West Coast Path runs past the gate and Watergate Bay sits 1.2 km away. Layout is inverted: open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner upstairs to make the most of the light, bedrooms below.

The kitchen-diner has exposed beams, a breakfast bar and a wood burner for cooler evenings. Bedroom configuration is one king with en-suite, one super-king that can convert to twins on request, and a bunk room with a double base - useful for mixed family groups. Outside there are two enclosed patios and a BBQ. The whole layout is step-free and marked accessible. Two dogs are welcome. There is no sea view and no hot tub, so guests wanting either should look elsewhere on the same coast.

Watergate Bay gives you 2 miles of flat sand, the Extreme Academy for surf and kite hire, and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen reborn as The Beach Hut. Mawgan Porth is 2.2 km north and quieter outside school holidays. Newquay town and Cornwall Airport Newquay are roughly 4 miles south. The clifftop viewpoint at Bedruthan Steps is a short drive up the coast.

Best for active families and dog owners who want Coast Path access from the door. Less good for guests after sea views or nightlife on the doorstep.
