Head to the old Great Western Railway Station (2.5 miles) in Bodmin to take a romantic steam train journey on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway to Boscarne Junction, which links with the Camel Trail. Or for a day out with a difference, head to Bodmin Jail (2 miles), which dates back to the 18th century. Take a tour of this imposing old building and soak up the spooky ambience before stopping off in one of the town’s chic eateries for a romantic meal.

Step outside from the first floor and you’ll discover a lovely enclosed patio area with a BBQ and garden furniture. It’s the perfect spot for those romantic al fresco dinners or relaxing after-dinner drinks. There’s also a shared shed where you can store your bikes or surfing equipment.
