Newquay Zoo is 4 miles, and the town itself has a wider range of surf schools, restaurants, and nightlife for guests who want more than beach and walking. Padstow is a scenic 13-mile coastal drive north, known for its harbour restaurants. The Eden Project in St Austell is 16 miles - the biome gardens are open year-round and make a reasonable rainy-day option.
