Sundown

Sundown is a reverse-level detached house in Widemouth Bay, sleeping eight across four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The layout flips the conventional arrangement - living spaces sit on the upper floor to capture sea views across the bay, while bedrooms occupy the ground floor for quiet sleeping away from the light.

The upper floor holds the main sitting room, dining area for eight, and a kitchen with a dishwasher and coffee machine. A Juliet balcony runs off the sitting room, and the principal bedroom also opens onto one. That top bedroom is the standout room: a king-size bed, en-suite with freestanding bath and overhead shower. Three further king and twin bedrooms are on the ground floor, with one en-suite and a shared family bathroom. Parking for up to three cars sits on the private drive.

Widemouth Bay is 300m away - a broad, west-facing beach with consistent surf and RNLI lifeguards in season. It is one of the best beginner surf beaches on the north Cornwall coast, with a surf school operating from the car park. Summerleaze Beach in Bude is 4.3km north, with a tidal seawater pool on the beach. The South West Coast Path runs directly through Widemouth Bay for coastal walking in either direction.

Best for: families or two couples wanting sea views and direct beach access without sharing a holiday park. Less good for: guests needing wifi - the cottage does not have it listed, and Widemouth Bay has limited mobile signal in places.
