Silvershell

Silvershell is a detached two-bedroom bungalow sitting at the top of Port Isaac, with views down over the rooftops to the harbour. Sleeping four across a king-size double and a twin, it suits couples travelling together or a small family. The single-level layout is a useful alternative to Port Isaac's more common stepped cottages, which tend to involve steep internal stairs.

Inside, the living space runs into a dining area and kitchen, with a log fire in the main room. Wi-Fi, a dishwasher and a washing machine are all included. Off-road parking for two cars sits on the property - a practical advantage in a village where harbour-side spaces are scarce and the main car park fills quickly in summer.

The back garden is large and enclosed, and up to two small dogs or one medium/large dog are welcome. The South West Coast Path runs close to the cottage, giving direct access to the cliff-top stretch between Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, the neighbouring cove with its own small beach and pub.

Port Isaac itself is a working fishing village, recognisable to many as the location used for the Doc Martin series. Polzeath's family-friendly surf beach is around six miles away, Daymer Bay - dog-friendly year-round - is about eight miles, and Wadebridge lies roughly ten miles inland for a full range of shops and supermarkets.
